Best Roofing Companies in Hobart 2026

★★★★★ 4.8 (24 Google reviews)

One of the few 'over 20 years' claims we could back with actual paperwork — the Select name traces to 2000 on the ABR, and the company behind it, GST-registered since 2001, also runs its own materials supplier. Lindsay handles the customers, per four reviews; 4.8 from 24. Just book early: reviewers mention waits, and small repairs aren't their game.

★★★★★ 4.9 (19 Google reviews)

Travis is named in 15 of the 19 reviews — turning up on time, finding leaks, explaining options — and a 4.9 average backs the praise. The company checks out too: Southern Roofing Contractors Pty Ltd, GST-registered since October 2019 in the Huon Valley. The advertised re-roofs and commercial work aren't yet visible in the review record — the proven part is repairs.

★★★★★ 4.9 (17 Google reviews)

The ABR confirms this is Jagdeep Singh's business — his sole-trader ABN, GST-registered since March 2018, sits behind the year-old HELLO Handyman name — and six of seventeen reviewers name him warmly on a 4.9 record. Honest caveat: it's a handyman service rather than a dedicated roofing contractor, so it's best for small roof repairs and gutter jobs, not full re-roofs.

★★★★★ 5.0 (2 Google reviews)

The strongest thing here is the paper trail: we traced the listing's mobile number to 'The Roof Tiler', registered to sole trader Jim Ellson, whose ABN has been active since October 2003 — about 22 years on the tools. But the 5.0 rests on just two star-only reviews from years back, so treat him as unrated and do your own vetting.

★★★★☆ 4.2 (5 Google reviews)

Glen Beaumont's Glenorchy business has real history: a Beaumont family-partnership ABN traded until 2014, when his current sole-trader registration picked up the very same day — a restructure, not a wind-up. Reviews are warm but sparse at 4.2 from just 5, and the website still displays the old cancelled ABN, so ask for the current one on your quote.

★★★☆☆ 3.3 (16 Google reviews)

The ABN behind this trading name has been active since July 2005 — a family trust with two decades on the register. The 3.3 misleads: nearly every review from the past three years is a five-star re-roof naming Adam, while the negatives are five-to-seven-year-old complaints about unanswered calls, mostly from people who never became customers.

★★★☆☆ 3.4 (5 Google reviews)

One of Tasmania's rare genuine slate specialists — the ABN is published on their own site, verifies to a family trust trading since 2012, and the firm appears in Heritage Tasmania's official services directory. The 3.4 needs context: only five reviews, and the two one-stars aren't about roofing — one is an unverified bystander allegation, the other unreturned calls.

★★★★★ 4.6 (10 Google reviews)

The paperwork checks out — a sole trader registered at Bellerive, right where they're based — but only since April 2025, despite the website's '20 years' claim. Written reviews praise same-day leak fixes, though five of the ten Google ratings are star-only, posted the same month, so treat the 4.6 with some caution.

★★★★☆ 3.9 (7 Google reviews)

Rampro publishes its ABN on its own site and it verifies — a family trust, GST-registered since 2016, though the 'established 2012' claim predates that paperwork. The happy reviews describe punctual, on-quote re-roofs with Brian; but two of seven are one-star, both about months of unanswered calls. 3.9 from 7 — get dates in writing.

★★★★★ 5.0 (8 Google reviews)

A registered Hobart company with a spotless — if small — record: 5.0 from just 8 Google reviews, including a best-value shed re-roof done seamlessly alongside a builder. Honesty note: the Pty Ltd only dates from July 2025, while the website claims over 1,000 roofs protected — ask whether the crew traded under another name first.

★★★☆☆ 2.8 (6 Google reviews)

Twenty-six years on the register — Raymark Roofing Pty Ltd has been ABN- and GST-active in Mornington since 2000 — but the 2.8 from 6 Google ratings needs unpacking: three silent one-stars with no explanation against two positive written reviews. A sample that small proves little either way; ask for recent references before you judge.

★★★★★ 5.0 (2 Google reviews)

We'll say it plainly: there are only two Google reviews here, and one of them describes hiring a different registered company entirely. 'Hobart Roof Restorers' isn't on the ABR, no ABN appears on the site, and the address is level five of an office building — so ask who you're contracting with before handing over anything.

★★☆☆☆ 2.3 (36 Google reviews)

The clearest avoid among Hobart roofers: nineteen of the twenty most recent reviews behind the 2.3 are one-star, and more than a dozen reviewers across five years allege the same sequence — deposit paid 'for materials', roofer never returns. These are unverified allegations, not court findings, but there's also no ABR registration we could find. Pay nothing before completion.
