This is one of the more convincing paper trails of the Perth roofers we've reviewed. The ABN belongs personally to Adam Dean — the same Adam Dean the website names as founder and head roofer — and it's been active since 1 July 2000, the first day the ABN system existed. The site claims the business has been operating since 1995; we can't verify back that far (no register does), but being on the ABN books from day one is at least consistent with a business that predates the system. The 'Fremantle Roofing Services' business name was formally registered in 2014.
The reviews are hard to argue with: a perfect 5.0 across 142 on Google, echoed by a 5.0 on ProductReview (albeit from only 3 reviews there). Adam is named in around 20 reviews and offsider Ben in a few more, and the themes are remarkably consistent — honest, unbiased assessments (including telling people what they don't need), punctual communication, clean sites and fair prices. When a sole trader's own name is all over the reviews like this, the reputation and the person are the same thing, which cuts both ways: total accountability, but also key-person dependency.
The honest caveats: this is a sole trader, not a company, so the 10-year written workmanship warranty the site promises is ultimately backed by an individual — worth asking how that would survive Adam retiring. His own site says he has 28 years of roof tiling and restoration experience and admits he's 'often a little grumpy before 10am' — which tells you something about how the whole page is written: plain, self-deprecating, and salesman-free. He's named in roughly 20 of the firm's Google reviews, usually for turning up himself and giving straight advice.
Alongside him is Ben Hanson, a qualified roof tiler the site credits with 20 years of roofing experience, seven of them at Fremantle Roofing Services. Reviewers name Ben too — one calls Adam and Ben 'the true old school honest and hard workers'. Those experience figures are the firm's own claims, but the fact that the same two names keep surfacing in customer reviews is about as good as corroboration gets for a small trade outfit.
