AustralianRoofers Trust Score New
How it's calculated: a transparent, evidence-weighted score — identity & longevity from the public ABN register, reputation from verified Google reviews, and consistency from cross-checking independent platforms. Grades are proportional to the evidence. Where we search the register and can't confirm a business, the identity check scores zero rather than being quietly left out — so a firm we couldn't verify never outranks one we could. Longevity stays unscored in that case, because without a registration date there's nothing to measure.
Our honest take
Roo Roofing is one of the more verifiable Brisbane roofers we've reviewed. The company behind it, Roo-Roofing Pty Ltd, has been registered and GST-active since May 2008 — 18 years — at the same Coorparoo postcode where they still operate, and they publish a QBCC licence number (1147373) on their own website. That's the full paper trail we like to see, and plenty of firms with better-polished marketing can't produce it.
The reviews back it up. A 4.6 from 40 Google reviews, with the detailed ones describing serious jobs: full tile-to-Colorbond conversions, roof replacements that included new beams, carpentry and fascia work, and a Queenslander re-roof for an elderly owner. 'Professional' comes up fifteen times, and several reviewers specifically praise staged invoicing and clear, itemised quotes. Their site describes a multi-generation family business — their claim, but one that fits the tone of the reviews.
Two honest caveats. First, they're not cheap — more than one happy customer notes the quote was at the high end, and they say the result justified it. Second, they're busy: one reviewer booked around six months ahead, and the single one-star review is from someone who chased a quote for over a month and never got it. If your job is urgent or your budget is tight, that matters.

Who you'll actually deal with
Matthew — the name in the reviews
Matthew is named in eleven of the twenty most recent Google reviews — quoting, advising, and running jobs — so he's clearly the customer-facing lead. Reviewers describe him as generous with his time and knowledgeable, including one who got free advice on a tiny-home roof without a sale attached.
Behind him, the firm's own site describes a family business spanning three generations, with their oldest tradesman at 72 having over 55 years in the industry, and several other first names (Damien, Lauren, Brett, Len) appearing in site testimonials. Those are the firm's own claims, but the long company registration and consistent reviews make them believable.
What clients say
In their own words
Amazing experience with Roo Roofing. A large roof to remove tiles and switch over to colorbond. The team working here were great, tidy and professional, and the end result was fabulous. Communication was always great through the entire process.
Roo Roofing did a great job on our full roof replacement, new beams, insulation, carpentry work, fascia etc. They were polite, flexible and great to deal with.
My elderly mother’s old Queenslander needed a new roof. Matthew and his team were helpful, pleasant and professional. The whole process flowed well and the new roof and guttering look great. We would recommend Roo Roofing to anyone needing a new roof.
Reviewers consistently describe big, well-managed re-roofing jobs with excellent communication, tidy sites and premium-but-justified pricing.
Best for
- Full roof replacements, especially tile-to-Colorbond conversions on older Brisbane homes
- Jobs with structural scope — reviewers mention new beams, carpentry, fascia and insulation handled in the one project
- Homeowners who value clear itemised quotes and staged invoicing over the lowest price
Less suited for
- Budget-driven jobs — multiple reviewers note their quotes came in at the higher end
- Urgent work — one reviewer waited around six months for their booking slot
- Anyone who needs a fast quote turnaround — the firm's only one-star review is from someone who chased a quote for over a month
Before you commit
Five questions worth asking
- Can you confirm your QBCC licence (they publish #1147373) is current and covers the full scope of my job?
- What's your current lead time from deposit to starting on the roof?
- How is the invoicing staged, and what triggers each payment?
- What written warranty do you provide on workmanship, separate from the material warranties?
- Will the carpentry, insulation and guttering be done by your own team or subcontracted?
Bottom line
An 18-year-old registered company with a published QBCC licence, a genuinely strong 4.6 from 40 reviews, and a named, praised principal — this is the profile of a roofer you book early and pay properly for. Just don't expect the cheapest quote or an instant start.
Assessed by the editorial team at AustralianRoofers.com from public Google Business Profile data, the firm's own website, and the ABN register. Not a paid placement.
